Hosting a workshop can be fun and rewarding!
When you host a Birth Emergency Skills Training® workshop in your own hometown, you have the opportunity to bring your midwifery community together. This is a wonderful thing!
It is so important to develop professional relationships, network, learn and support one another. Hosting a workshop also provides you a unique opportunity to build bridges between community providers and your hospital providers by inviting them to learn along side you.
Working together, reviewing, improving and practicing essential birth emergency skills we can improve outcomes while elevating the status of out of hospital birth and midwifery.

Hosting Basics
- Contact us and get more information about hosting
- Save the Date! Request or submit preferred dates. Once we all agree, send $200 deposit
- Choose a venue! Follow our guidelines provided in choosing an appropriate venue
- Put the word out! Contact your local and state wide midwifery groups and organizations
- Register participants! Use the google form provided or create your own
- Collect deposits to ensure you meet your minimum requirement of 14 participants ($200 recommended).
- Advertise your workshop. We will post on our websites, instagram and facebook accounts
- Stay in touch! Reach out with questions or if you need help. We guide you every step of the way
- Send $300 travel deposit 30 days prior scheduled workshop
- Forward email with link to online program (sent to you approximately 30 days prior and with receipt of $300 travel deposit), to all your participants
- Have venue set up prior to our arrival (at 8:00am the morning of the workshop), with tables, chairs and supplies - as directed - along with tea, coffee and snacks
- Enjoy your workshop! Without the travel and expense of leaving home

Scholarships available!
- We are committed to increasing the diversity of midwives
- Midwife of Color student scholarship ($565) offered per workshop with 15 other participants
- Scholarship may be shared between 2-4 participants to increase access to the workshop

Bring Birth Emergency Skills Training® to your doorstep!
We travel across the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico), and Canada, bringing these essential, life saving skills to midwives, doctors, nurses and other birth workers. Ask us about Europe, we would love to come!
We also offer Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification as an additional half day workshop. Participants attending BEST receive a discount! Between BEST and NRP, you earn 32 CEU's in just 2 days + online learning!
